ABF Pajala is offering to teach the Swedish language to newly arrived refugees.
Informationsverige.se offers the digital language learning package "Lära svenska". You can use it to practise Swedish on your own by doing exercises and watching videos.
All children have the right to attend school and preschool.

Call 1177 if you are ill and wish to speak to a nurse for advice. The helpline is free of charge. The nurses speak Swedish and English. They can also help you to find the nearest healthcare centre.

Pajala Municipality deals with many things for the benefit of the people who live here. Among other things, the municipality is responsible for providing preschools, schools, social services and elderly care.
What is the municipality doing for newly arrived refugees?
Pajala Municipality’s responsibility for newly arrived refugees is to make sure that children can attend preschool and school and that the children live in a safe and healthy environment.
From the 1st of July 2022 the municipality also is responsible for providing housing for you who has seeked protection under the Temporary Protection Directive, and not have found your own place to stay.
There are many voluntary groups and organisations that want to make you feel welcome. For instance, there are some second-hand shops that can provide clothes and other items, for you and your family, if you are newly arrived.
There are several organisations offering to teach the Swedish language to newly arrived refugees. They are called studieförbund, study associations.
You can ask people around you what is provided in your local area.
